This project develops an evidence-based nursing orientation framework to address healthcare complexities, improve nurse competency, and reduce turnover. It highlights the importance of structured programs, interactive engagement, and robust preceptorship to enhance nurse retention and job satisfaction, while aligning with organizational goals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Stacey Foster Jackson, RN, MScN, Cambridge Memorial Hospital
Stacey Foster Jackson has been a Registered Nurse for 17 years, during this time she has acquired her bachelor’s degree in nursing as well as professional certifications in critical care and oncology. With a growing passion for teaching, Stacey completed a master’s degree in nursing education and has subsequently worked as an educator in both clinical and academic capacities. She is also passionate and committed to empowering nurses and supporting their professional growth with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in their roles and the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Stacey is a committed lifelong learner and is always seeking opportunities to expand her knowledge and skills especially in the area of research. This has been a growing interest as she believes that research is an opportunity to uncover insights and drive innovation and change. A major undertaking was to work as apart of the team that led a teaching hospital in Jamaica to become a Best Practice Spotlight Organization through the RNAO. Se is currently an active participant in the RNAO Advanced Clinical Practice Fellowship program which has provide an opportunity for her to explore nursing orientation for which she is passionate about and hopes to continue learning about the process that inspires and empower new nurses to learn, develop and excel in their role at all levels.
