Our development of the practice requires the skillset of a trained healthcare professional that is knowledgeable about various mental health and addictions conditions, their clinical manifestations and management modalities. By virtue of their expert training, nurses possess the skills and the tools to detect subtle changes in patients’ responses, recognize trends, and engage in rapid intervention response before a situation escalates to a crisis.
