Development of education and point-of-care support catered to the aspiring and new graduate nurse with support their transition from academia to the acute care setting.
Lorena Lopez, RN, MN, Trillium Health Partners
Lorena Lopez has been with THP for 9 years, where she has held several roles as a point-of-care CRT nurse, charge nurse of 1G and contingency areas, COVID-19 assessment lead, and Clinical Leader on 1D Rehabilitation. In her most recent role as the co-lead of Transition to Independent Practice Support (TIPS), Lorena facilitates the development and transition of new graduate nurses into the hospital setting through the delivery of webinars, simulations and skills sessions. Lorena is also a Clinical Instructor with the University of Toronto and Lecturer with George Brown College. Lorena holds a Master of Clinical Nursing from the University of Toronto and is underway completion of a certificate in Nursing Education for the Practice Setting from the University of Toronto. Through these experiences, Lorena has developed a deep passion for adult learning, mentorship and psychological safety.
