The shortage of clinical nurses is intricately inked to the scarcity of nursing faculty. With increasing migration among health professionals, our study sought to inform strategies to improve nursing retention, remediate attrition and strengthen the quality of the nursing workforce.
Sheila Boamah, BScN, PhD, Assistant Professor, McMaster University
Dr. Sheila Boamah is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at McMaster University. Her research foci include health systems, health human resources, and quality and outcomes of underserved populations. At this conference, she will be sharing the outcomes of the Phase II of her SSHRC-funded Work-life Research Project, that explores the influence of leadership and its impact on academic work environments and the subsequent effects on faculty wellness, productivity, and retention.
