Poster 2: Novel Use of a Mentorship Model to Support Nursing Simulation Leadership in a Community Academic Teaching Hospital

Using a mentorship model within a simulation program to increase competence, confidence and skills sets of nursing, in the area of simulation, contributes to strengthened leadership capacity, as well as fostering a deeper collaboration between senior and novice educators.

Nicole Bradbury, BScN, MScN(c), Registered Nurse, North York General Hospital

Nicole Bradbury is a Registered Nurse working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at NYGH. She is currently completing her Master of Science in Nursing at York University in the education stream, hoping to support her colleagues utilizing simulation to advance practice across many disciplines. She is currently working with the Simulation program at NYGH via the Mentorship program and has gained a wealth of knowledge in facilitating simulation to a multitude of learners in various areas of the hospital.
