Glenn Barton, RN, MSN, EdD, The Ottawa Hospital
Glenn Barton’s previous experience includes over 25 years as a frontline nursing clinician, educator and now as TOH’s Director of Education and Professional Practice. He has worked as a curriculum designer for the Royal College of Physicians Surgeons Canada to help lead the collaborative planning, development, assessment and evaluation of various accredited, simulation-based, continuing professional development (CPD) patient safety offerings for multi-specialty physicians and their inter-professional health team colleagues.
Glenn holds a Doctorate of Educational Leadership (EDd) from the University of Western Ontario with scholarly research-practice interests that include building high reliability team competency through health professions education and promoting high engagement with systems applied organizational learning.
Grace Kennedy RN, BScN, MSN (cand.),The Ottawa Hospital
Grace Kennedy began her nursing career at The Ottawa Hospital in 2018 as a Registered Nurse on the Corporate Float Team. She has held various roles, including Geriatric Psychiatry Consult Nurse and Perioperative Virtual Nurse, and has been instrumental in the opening and stabilization of off-site satellite units. Currently, as the Project Manager for the Corporate Interprofessional Education Strategy & Nursing Recruitment, Grace has spearheaded high-impact recruitment initiatives and helped champion integration pathways for Internationally Educated Nurses. She has successfully managed the recruitment and hiring of nursing students and external nurses, focusing on career development and strengthening the nursing talent pipeline.
Grace is currently pursuing her Master’s in Nursing with a focus in Leadership, and is recognized for her collaborative leadership in the TOH Human Resource-Professional Practice-Education-Service Line partnership, which has successfully hired, onboarded, and integrated over 400 nurses in the past year.
