The Director of Nursing role is a critical leadership position in long-term care (LTC) homes; however, there is a significant amount of turn over in the role, that may lessen with the right supportive strategies. The most relevant supportive strategies as deemed by LTC leaders will be presented.

Mrs. Julia Fineczko is a Registered Nurse with leadership experience across both long term care and mental health sectors, with a focused interest on enhancing nursing practice, interprofessional collaboration, quality, and models of care. Julia is currently completing her Doctor of Nursing degree at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Katherine McGilton and Dr. Charlene Chu where she is examining the role of the Director of Care in Long Term Care.
