The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) created a Cross Functional Team (CFT), to address a critical organizational issue, which is to reduce Inpatient Emergency Department boarding (IEB). To fully engage and collaborate with front-line staff involved in patient flow, nursing leadership was integral.
Paulette Moore, BScN, CON(C), RVH
Paulette Moore is a Registered Nurse who graduated from the York University BScN program with honours in 2006. She has been a dedicated RN for over 18 years in an acute care setting with a background in surgical, community and oncology nursing. Paulette has achieved and maintained national certification in Oncology with the Canadian Nurses Association since 2012. She has executed a variety of roles within healthcare both clinical and nonclinical with her most recent experience on the Cross Functional Team.
Christine Majer is working as a Registered Practical Nurse, who graduated from Conestoga College in 2020. She has a background in Surgical Nursing and has worked in various administrative roles, including the Cross Functional Team. She has over 5 years of experience in healthcare in different capacities, including community nursing as well as Retirement and LTC.
