B2: The Nurse Leader as Citizen Developer: Leveraging a Homegrown Digital Health Platform to Develop a Peer-to-Peer Support App for Cancer Care Patients

This project explores how nurse leaders at our large community academic hospital were engaged as Citizen Developers using a homegrown Digital Health Platform to develop a Peer-to-Peer Support App, enabling an enhanced model of care for Cancer Care patients requiring emotional and navigational support.

Michelle Ladouceur, RN, BScN, BHSc, MS QIPS, Transformation Lead, Innovation Excellence, Humber River Health

Michelle Ladouceur is a Registered Nurse and passionate Quality Improvement Specialist with over a decade of experience in the healthcare sector, in both clinical and improvement roles. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Health Science and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McMaster University, and in 2021 completed a Masters of Science with a concentration in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety from the University of Toronto. Michelle is currently engaged in health system transformation through her work as a Transformation Lead in Humber River Health’s Innovation Excellence Department.

Lisa Lun, RN, BScN, MA (Ed), CHPCN(C), Clinical Coordinator, Integrated Cancer Care Program, Humber River Health

Lisa has specialized in oncology and palliative care for 25 years. She has engaged in many leadership roles at cross-regional Palliative Care Networks, Central Regional Cancer Care Program as the Systemic Therapy Nursing Lead and Ontario Health Cancer Care Ontario’s Oncology Nursing Program as the Regional Oncology Nursing Lead. Lisa is currently a Clinical Coordinator for the Integrated Cancer Care Program at Humber River Health in Toronto.
