A new leadership imperative: Strengthening interprofessional collaborations between nurses, doctors and paramedics in home-based community paramedic programs

Effective leadership and education can assist nurses to thrive during health system transformation, and to adapt to new models of care that require collaboration with other health professions. The inclusion of community paramedicine into the homecare sector creates opportunities for nurses and nurse leaders to engage in intra and interprofessional collaboration to support role optimization, while avoiding boundary protection and overlaps in service.
