The BCIT School of Health Sciences (SOHS) is seeking an interim Associate Dean, Nursing (this appointment will end December 31, 2015) to lead BCIT’s Bachelor of Science Nursing Program and to influence nursing education and the future of nursing, in line with BCIT BSN Program’s Strategic Values, Vision and Mission: to educate future professional nurses who promote health for individuals and communities.
Reporting to the Dean of Health Sciences, and working with departmental Associate Deans, Managers, faculty and staff, the interim Associate Dean, Nursing will be an inspirational leader, inspiring and supporting faculty and staff to provide excellent education, student centered learning and developing a future focused curriculum, in accordance with BCIT and industry standards. While supporting internal relationships across programs, departments and schools, the Associate Dean maintains external relations with industry, professional associations and other educational institutions. The interim Associate Dean is also responsible for the management of Educational Administration, Human Relations, Student Relations, Corporate Management and School Management.
In addition, this individual is responsible for executing a broad range of initiatives impacting the daily and longer-term strategic issues important to the institute. For this reason, the interim Associate Dean recognizes opportunities for change, engages faculty in the process, and provides proactive leadership in new program development to meet changing workforce needs.
