2026 NLN.ON CONFERENCE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

We invite nurse leaders, administrators, clinicians, researchers, educators, policy makers and students to submit abstracts that reflect this yearโ€™s main theme of Leading with Impact: Strength and Adaptability in Nursing. Join us in highlighting nursing leadershipโ€™s impact through the sharing of innovative approaches, research, and initiatives that demonstrate the strength & adaptability needed to navigate complex & shifting healthcare environments, and advance nursing excellence.  Peer reviewed oral & poster presentations will focus on how nurse leaders build individual, organizational, & leadership capacity; inspire resilience; foster collaboration & excellence in practice, research & education; and support workforce wellbeing and sustainability.

PRESENTATION FORMATS AVAILABLE

  • Oral presentations: 20 minutes in length (15 minutes speaking time, plus 5 minutes for Q&A).
  • Posters presentations: will be presented in person at a dedicated time during the conference.

CONFERENCE SUBTHEMES
Submissions should be aligned with one or more of the following sub-themes:

Capacity Building From Within
Highlight approaches that strengthen nursing leadership from the inside out, including mentorship, knowledge-sharing, reflective practice, and leadership development that build lasting capacity and resilience.

The Power of Collaboration In Practice, Research and Academia
Share examples of meaningful collaboration across clinical practice, research, and academic settings that drive innovation, enhance evidence-informed care, and strengthen nursingโ€™s collective impact.

Workforce Wellbeing and Sustainability
Explore strategies that support the physical, emotional, and professional wellbeing of the nursing workforce, while promoting sustainable models that enhance retention, engagement, and long-term workforce stability.

REQUIRED SUBMISSION CONTENT
Your abstract should:

  • Be maximum of1800 characters including spaces | approx. 300 words.
  • Include the following headings:
    • Background: Clearly state the problem, issue, or project.
    • Methods/Approach: Describe what methods or approaches were used to address the problem, issue, or project.
    • Results/Conclusions: Describe key findings, conclusions, or solutions.
    • Relevance/Implications: Identify relevance to nursing leadership and conferenceย theme/sub-themes

SUBMISSION DEADLINE
Online submissions must be fully completed by 11:59 pm EST on Friday, April 24, 2026.

OTHER INFORMATION
All presenters are responsible for all expenses incurred and must pay to register for the conference.

Please note that the conference allows no more than two presenters per topic.
