Full-Time Education Award
Alexandra Harris
Alex is a doctoral candidate at Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing and holds a combined MN/MHSc (Health Administration). For her doctoral research, Alex is exploring nursing intellectual capital and hospital performance. Prior to her graduate studies, Alex worked as an ER nurse and Innovation Project Manager at the University Health Network.
Student Nurse Education Award
Krista Sferrazza
Krista Sferrazza is finishing her final year of the BScN program at McMaster University, and concluding her term as President of the McMaster University Nursing Students Society. Krista hopes to take on leadership roles in her nursing career by advancing her practice through graduate work in nursing education and administration.
Dorothy Wylie Graduate Fellowship Award
Sherry Daigle
Sherry has spent her entire nursing career in the Ottawa area, having worked at The Ottawa Hospital and a small rural hospital. Most of her career has been in the position of Clinical Manager in various areas including Emergency, Oncology-Hematology, and Rehabilitation. Sherry has continued her education and has almost completed her Masters of Management (Nursing).
Research Award
Sheila Boamah
Sheila is a doctoral candidate at Western University and a current member of the HKL research team where she works with her supervisor on promoting healthy workplace empowerment. Sheila’s doctoral research focuses on the role nursing leadership plays in creating healthy work environments that are conducive to providing high quality patient care and quality worklife.
Sue Matthews Leader Mentor Award
Cindy Fajardo
Cindy is a seasoned nurse, and a passionate advocate for evidence-based care that demonstrates the incredible value of nursing knowledge and interprofessional collaboration to transform care and elevate patient experience. In her current role, she leads sustainable clinical best practice implementation initiatives and designs professional development curriculum to prepare and mentor Telehomecare practitioners across the province.
