FOR 2021 – 2023 NLN BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Effective governance depends on the right mixture of skills, experience, personal qualities, and diversity among the members of a Board. that will contribute to the ongoing success of NLN.ON.
Position Description: Director (4 vacancies)
Reports to:
President, NLN.ON
Primary Function:
To present the interests of nursing leaders and act as a liaison between the NLN.ON Executives committee and the NLN.ON membership.
Qualifications:
- Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Member in good standing with NLN.ON
- Experience in a leadership role (formal and informal) within any of the domains of nursing practice (clinical, administrative, education, research or policy)
- Ability and willingness to devote the time and effort required to be an effective board member, including attendance and active participation in board meetings (monthly virtual / video calls) and committee meetings (ad hoc)
Responsibilities:
- To participate in monthly virtual Board meetings.
- To participate on Board subcommittees as required (Communications, Finance etc.)
- To be aware of issues facing nursing leaders locally, regionally, and provincially
- To promote a forum for the creation of networks and the fostering of mentorship of NLN.ON members who have a special interest in nursing leadership
Duration:
Position is held for two years (beginning at the March 2021 AGM) and not more than four consecutive years.
